It is a disaster for the business model waiting to happen
Imagine your little Zen device with thousands of WMA DRM-
enabled songs; dozens of playlists, meticulously arranged songs
and all. On 32nd day of the month in which Napster folds, all
that stuff becomes a bunch unreadable corrupted files. And
there will be nobody to unlock those fiiles (and there legally
shouldn't anyway, since you're no longer paying your
subscription and therefore no longer entitled to your music)!!

I could see how there will be a few people shrugging it off ('Well,
it was good while it lasted'), the rest will be furious ('I sank
$250 into this subscription and have zero files? I could have
bought 15 CDs for that money, or 250 tunes from Apple!!!').

The people renting these songs don't understand they're just
renting them. They treat them as if they are their own CDs or the
old (illegally downloaded) MP3s. You pay subscription and you
don't think about the songs. Well, let's just see how this plays
out, but it sure won't be pretty.
