Intel - corporate bully-boy
Intel are getting a track record for using technology as a weapon. I wouldn't mind so much if it actually delivred better products but it doesn't - Intel's focus seems to be on incompatibility for the sake of making others march to the beat of their corporate drum - consumers be damned.

Intel foisted USB2 on an unsuspecting public rather than support the existing, widely used and superior FireWire. I can only presume that despite controlling perhaps 80% of the PC motherboard market, they were loath to let anyone else's technology find a niche there. Rather than develop a superior technology, they came out with crappy USB2.

It has yet to reach the speed FireWire has delivered for nearly 10 years, it will likely never even pretend to match FireWire 800.

Perhaps they are a perfect match for Microsoft, maybe they could form a troika with Sony - the satanic trinity...
