- It's extremely simple
- AT&T was forced to breakup. Then SBC (seperate company) began picking the little companies up. Then when AT&T was in trouble, SBC merged with them. They're using SBC's business logic, which is actually quite good, but decided to use the AT&T name as it is more widely known internationally.
