I have a Homeplug 1.0 Network here. BPL is suppose to work in a simular manner.

The Network connector is about the size of three card playing decks. It has an Ethernet plug on one end and three lights on it. When plugged in the lights come on if it finds other homeplug devices and automaticly forms a network. You just plug it in.

Homeplug 1.0 only allows 14 Mbps.

The new Homeplug devices are getting 54-85 Mbps though...

Homplug 1.0 adapters are older and run $15-$80 with about $50 being the most common price.

The new Homeplug adapters are running $60-$120 with about $80 being the average price.

Best Buy and Circuit City both dropped selling Homeplug adapters about 1.5 years ago (They may have recently started selling them again)... CompUSA has a selection of them though.
