New taxes could run rural broadband

My livelihood depends on the Internet (which allows me to prolong my wife's life by living where the air is clean, but still hold my current job), but not on broadband. If you could come up with some good examples of rural dwellers whose livelihood does depend on broadband Internet, or who are in danger of bankruptcy because they can't get it, I'm willing to listen.

Until, then, I will continue to view *broadband* Internet as a luxury, not as a necessity, and not worth subsidizing (remembering that subsidies always come out of someone else's pocket).
