Look, so many of you city dwellers just don't grasp that farming is not some ma and pa operation anymore. The average farmer in the midwest has several million dollars invested in land, equipment and livestock.

Crop prices vary constantly, selling now or an hour from now can make all the difference in the world when it comes to actaualy making a profit for the year.

No, the fact is both the telephone and electrical service to rural areas (which were both subsidised) is one of the main reasons we enjoy one of lowtest priced and safest food sources in the world.

You want them to pay for it, fine, but get ready to pay $5 for a loaf of bread...
