Seems both sides are blinded by politics.
Republicans ... Democrats... when it comes to corporate dependencies, both sides are guilty. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. It's not if they are getting corporate cahs, it's just which corporatations they owe. The only person I can think of who doesn't owe a corporation for help is Bloomberg (but then again, he is a corporation).

(Now to take a side)
Throwing around the name of the program "No Child Left Behind" really does nothing. It really needs that funding. With around 54 million children in nursery to high school, and around $24 Billion in funding, that's around $445/child. However a larger portion of that money goes to disabled children; which would pay for all of ... 8-16 hours of extra tutoring, training, rehab., etc.
(And I hate to point this out, but this would only fund the Iraqi war around what? 3-5 months).

Meanwhile, I can't praise the Democrats, because they didn't raise spending in the first place.

(Meanwhile, let's use Texas as an example, the President's former governership... not exactly a bastion of academic excellence)
