This is just another "free-be" promised to the people for their vote, by the big corporate controlled Democrats.

More broadband access, subsidized by the government, means more money for their buddies at Comcast, Verizon, SBC, ect.

In truth it would be the Democrats that don't like the idea of affordable education as Democrats are "for the common man" and the best way to keep people "common" is to keep them stupid...
