So what is this next generation network
Ok I have some questions on what this quote means?

"a next-generation network that automatically steers calls to a geographically appropriate emergency call center and identifies the caller's originating address"

What is this network ?

Who is in charge of it?

How does a company become a member of it?
What are the quialifications of membership?

I can only hope that this network will use a 3rd party that is in no way shape or form affilated with any telco nor voip provider that is also a cable provider. These companies are all about maintianing a void of compedition for thier ip services that operate over in somecases broadband connections that they own. The bandwith they claim to have all rights to what is sent over it is already paid for by the consumer. These companies have already show that they will take advantage of govt regulation as a means to maintian it. All they are doing is restrickting information flow that they clearly are not aloud to do.

I pray to God that the FCC does not instill regulation governing 911 that will basically leave one private company incharge of a Geo Graphic location. A non-Biase Pro Open Market regulation needs to be passed.

This issiue frightens me.
