The infrastructure is already there. WiMAx will only add much needed competition. Since the Telcos already have the lines for POTs in place the only cost is maintenance. WiMax will force them to stop gouging. Watch basic telphone service become cheap cheap.
Now if you're talking dial up connections. Well those should be things of the past. It really amazes me that on US TV you have so much advertising for dial up. Dial up is so 90s.
