I don't think so
You try it and tell me how it works. First off you can't save the data so you're forced to do screen shots in page by page basis. How useful is that? The end result of 400 page book would be 400 bit map images. Can you say useless.

What google offers a method to find the book you want and you purchase it. Right now it almost impossible to find a books online by topic because you can't browse the book to see it's content are what you are looking for. So a seach bring back 500 books on particular topic, which do you buy? They all look the same from the cover. So you don't buy online and instead go to the book store where the selection is limited and you thumb throuhg the 3 books they have to find it's not what you are looking for. So you don't buy any book. How's that helpful to creator and publisher?

Now if I can go to google and do a search I can view the snipets of content and find the book I want. Then I click on the link and I'm ordering the book from Amazon. Creator and publisher make money and I have the book I want.
