Rooting for Earthlink
I am rooting for Earthlink. It seems the best option for an ISP. I don't like the cable company, my phone company (Qwest) is even worse (forcing me to accept MSN as my ISP).

I would never dream of going with AOL, which advertises itself as the easiest service but is, in fact, the one giving people the most headaches, and containing numerous unwanted ads.

With AOL' email, you can't even send more than one attachment at a time, because on the receiving end, people will either not receive the attachmetns at all, or they will be in the form of a Zipped file that most AOL customers don't know how to unzip.

So, Earthlink is really the only sane option for most regular people who want a decent service that won't try to control them or their access to the internet (like AOL does), ... and who want the benefit of having their email accessible both online as well as stored on their own PCs.

If Earthlink could buy Qwest, or come up with an alternative technology, I would be all for it.

As for Google, ... I am starting to get mixed feelings about it. I used to think it was a great alternative, but Google is getting too big, expanding into too many areas, becoming too aggressive, and too powerful (and we all know how absoulte power corrupts absolutely).

So, I want Earthlink to succeed.
