VoIP Is A Concern
The FCC is insisting that all VoIP companies get acknowledgments back from all their customers regarding 911 service. Since VoIP uses the Internet like computers is it too far a stretch to consider that the actions of Level3 could disrupt VoIP calling resulting in a person being unable to reach their 911 Call Center to report an emergency and potentially lead to death?

The key is the inappropriateness of Level3's actions. They arbitrarily and unilaterally "thumbed their noses" at the rest of us in a quest for more money! I would boycott them if I could because they, in essence, said they do NOT care about me, the customer.

For example, you have 2 restaurants to choose from. They charge roughly the same for equivalent meals. One has friendly hostesses and wait staff. The restaurant has a pleasant decor and welcoming atmosphere. The other has a surly, gum-chewing staff and is always hovering like they can't wait for you to finish up and leave. Which restaurant would you choose?

I'd choose the first one because I am being made to feel welcome and that the restaurant appreciates my choosing them to patronize. Level3 is not making me feel welcome because they chose an action that hindered my enjoyment and use of the Internet.
