BPL will never work
The "interference problems" that this article refers to so glibly, should be read as "violations of physics rules". If you transmit a signal though a long, unshielded cable - its called an ANTENNA! And guess what, antennas TRANSMIT signals! Whoa, WHAT a concept! Unless you re-define the rules of physics, you won't be able to avoid this behavior.

OTOH if everyone had broadband, then the Streaming Paradigm would take off and broadcast ANYTHING will be dead. So except for a few Ham radio guys, no one will care about the radio interference - EXCEPT maybe the WiMAX steamroller!
