Nothing new

That fee has been around for years, levied against the "traditional" phone companies. It seems only fair to me that any direct competitor to the phone companies should be required to live under the same regulations and pay the same fees. If the fee should be dropped, it should be dropped for everyone, not just VoIP.

If you don't like the fee, then fine, lobby to have it dropped. But to start complaining about it now, when the fee has already been around a long time, makes it appear you only care about keeping your VoIP service cheap. What about the people who use "POTS" and have been paying the fee for years?
