More whining

Whine, whine, whine.

I love that word.

"Internet-based chat programs and utilities that do not link up with the public telephone network... would continue to be exempt from USF taxes, according to his proposal."

Use the "public telephone network", pay the tax.

Don't use the "public telephone network", don't pay the tax.

How hard a concept is that to grasp?

"Some VoIP customers already see charges linked to the USF on their bills, because many providers have to pay fees to the telephone companies whose wires they use. Vonage, for instance, imposes what it calls a "regulatory recovery fee" of $1.50 on each phone number it distributes. "

Just bump that fee up to the going rate for everyone that uses the "public telephone network", or impose the tax.
