Nope, I see it as a convergence
Of need (end users) and technology (Intel) converging at the right time.

Look at it this way, if the telco's were meeting the needs of the users by proividing service at a reasonable charge, no one would even be considering this. But as it is the telco's have tried to "cherry pick" for years and there was nothing anyone could do about it, that has changed...
