I did say "site" (in parens). The range of WiMAX is 30 miles while the range of WiFi is 300 feet? Its easier to deploy a single site than thousands of them (even if you need more than one access router). But WiMAX uses meshing technology, where bandwidth can be/is shared. Eventually the WiMESH will be everywhere and shared among everyone - and no "backhaul" will be needed.
