Doesn't count if you don't stick to the 802.11 standard.

The cool thing about the Defcon WiFi shootout was that they used 802.11 standard radios. You can easily go longer than 137 miles if you design your own equipment, just ask NASA.

Dave at Defcon is right, their record stands.
