I live in Upstate NY and I can tell you
that the dairy, corn and wheat growers in this are are NOT the rural people that they are talking about. The rural people are the "Jeremiah Johnsons" that live in the outer rural areas simply to be in a cheap and isolated place to live ... there is no farming or dairy business there. These are the people's phone service that you and I are paying for, not farmers.

All of the farming industries are close to the cities and WELL within the normal phone and cable runs here. They need to get their product to market, so having a business 50 miles out of the way would just be stupid because they need to be in an area to make transportation of food to processing plants, railroads, airports, and major marketplaces all together.

I live in a very populated urban area just outside Albany ny that has a gigantic farm right in the middle of it ... other large corn and dairy farms are 5 minutes away STILL in the mainsteam wire-runs.
