$7.95 per day at Logon
I was at Logon on Tuesday. Delta/Song canceled my flight and I got to spend nearly six hours chillin in Terminal A. I got out my laptop and searched for access. The only signal that was unsecure was the Logon WiFi. They wanted their $7.95 per day and I shut down the laptop.

First, there was no way to really tell if I was talking to the Comcast gateway and I wasn't going to yank out a credit card and give that info away in spite of the SSL certificates. Second, even if I felt there was no risk broadcasting my credit card number, I wasn't going to pay that much for a few hours of web access. It just ain't worth it. Too bad I was not in the Continental terminal. I might have been able to catch a stray signal from the frequent flyer club.

I imagine that a large part of the $7.95 goes to processing the credit card data. Even so, $7.95 is way too much. If Logon must charge to add revenue to their airport authority, I suggest they use the bucks to hire some real people, not just zombies, to do the airport screening. It took almost 30 minutes to get through the security check with only 12 people in front of me. I had a Sam Adams (pint draft = $6 - ca-ching more money for the Logan Airport Auth.) nearby and watched the screeners work. With three lines, each with X-Ray machines, metal dtectors and 3-5 agents per line, less than 2 people per minute (less than 1 per line) made it through that gauntlet. Hopefully I will never need to visit Logan again
