Skype faces "dependability" hurdle
I use SkypeOut for interncontinental calls. With my built-in
microphone and earplugs to eliminate echo, my clients in
America and Europe are impressed with the clarity. Then I went
to a friend's house in Germany where three computers used one
Linksys wi-fi router. The network there had two WXP computers
and an OS X computer. Guess what? Calls were made to clients
in Ireland, the UK, America and France and my voice couldn't be
heard. Why? i dont' think it's a Skype problem, it may be a
Linksys problem (my reliable connections have been with Bemac
and Airport wi-fi routers with 3 or more computers on the
network).

And the issue is that Skype doesn't know my call clarity was not
good but I have to pay for it anyway. OK, it's cheap but there
are other factors that have an impact and I don't know how
Skype can improve them.

I wish Skype would add SMS and fax services. Right now, I can
have ?0.10 SMS messages to any mobile phone in the world with
SMSMac (a Dashboard widget - tres cool). But it would be great
to do it with Skype as well.

Just my 2?
