More Cities Should Do This
After waiting nearly 2 years for the "utilities" to get off the dime
and provide broadband to my new neighborhood, I've become a
full blown advocate of local government stepping in and
providing basic infrastructure instead of waiting for the mythical
"Free" market to provide services.
The local phone company and cable company (both monopoly
providers for the greater part) are so riven with greed that they'd
never provide what is in reality a basic infrastructure need in the
21st Century.
Let them eat cake and rot.. we'll bridge the digital divide over
their carcasses.
