The peoples Voice rules
I think, as always, the voice of the people should determine the path that government takes... Not beaurocrats, politicians or overly ambitious salesmen. But to make a sound decision, the people need to be given contracted guarantees by all sides in the debate, not just the lip-service of what "could" be!

I should point out that previous ventures by novice communities have failed and the only ones that lost were the taxpayers. The contractors that built-out the fiber network were paid. The incumbents got unfair competition from the below cost bidder that ended-up buying the finished network.

One last note... Is there room for a third broadband supplier? Will a third one bring down the other two when it fails?

Wouldn't it be better to open up for bidding, a franchise for broadband in Lafayette, where professionals can do the service?

Just my two cents!
