consumer confusion
Unfortunately for consumers tv's are not "certified" or identified in any way (today) as to whether or not they will work with the new digital transmissions. I went to circuit city and did some research, and although some said they had "digital comb fitering" or "digital tuning", it was pretty unclear whether or not they would work. I believe that the government should require some identification of complying tv sets so that consumers don't get soaked when they buy a new tv, since they have a tendency to last a pretty long time. I have a feeling manufacturers are not specifying so they can unload those non-digital sets for the same money as those that are.
