What a cash cow this is going to be!
Okay, so now the electric grid is going to be a huge internet appliance. Cool.

So when you get the bill for the meter upgrade to your house as it needs a firewall - and the rates go up because every switching station and transformer will need authentication as well as a firewall baked in, and oh by the way, when the lights go out in your area of town 'cause some 16 year old thought it was just a way cool thing to do, remember all the praise you were heaping on this new way to do things.
