Not just "emergency" radios...
...BPL causes significant and ~irresolvable~ interference with authorized and licensed HF radio services of EVERY kind, including public service, private services and even the amateur service (or "ham radio" as it is more commonly known).

Trust me, folks, you don't want BPL; what you want is ubiguitous wireless and the smart power companies are finally beginning to realize that the problems with BPL are insurmountable issues with a wrong-headed, futile and VERY archaic technology. We've moved on...let's just throw the dirt on BPL, plant lilies, and inscribe "RIP" on the stone!
