You misunderstood what I meant by "Intentionally unsecured". When you leave your wireless router Unsecured, the router has no way to figure out whether your Intention is to let anybody access it or just you and your family. And I doubt if any technology exist to make it decide either way. So referring to your home analogy, there is no label I can stick whether my home(ghetto ?) is intentionally left unlocked so a backpacker can chill here, or that I have left it unlocked but please don't come in. In the absence of such a Label, how could either intention be specified ? It just can't be done unless the WiFi specifications are modified to accomodate this !
