Public figures typically stray FAR from their public records.
"I don't buy arguments where motives are given to people that are so far from the public record of motives that they describe for themselves."
Why? That's just plain silly and NAIVE.
"The US Federal Government is not competent enough to attack our own country without irrefutable evidince being pasted in national news headlines within 24 hours. Sorry. Somebody would talk."
Well, you're wrong about that. By now ALL of the media is in on it. They are not allowed to talk. And if you can't believe that, well, then you are very unaware of what is going on lately. There are TONS of important things that the media chooses not to report on.
" Al Qaeda does claim credit for some terrorist attacks.."
WRONG. The US federal government tells us that they make these claims. So far no one has provided ANY evidence that Al-Qaeda has carried out ANY of the attacks that they've been blamed for. Remember, this is America: INNOCENT until **PROVEN** guilty.
"..and I hope I live long enough to find out just exactly how he got us into this nation building exercise."
Easy. When he campaigned for the presidency he went as a "compassionate conservative" and claimed he had no interest in nation building. Once he took office he **LIED** to get the nation into war. The neocons in power now have been wanting to attack Iraq for YEARS. He was simply carrying out their desire.
"With that said, there is no record of public statements to indicate that W is so wacked out that he would condone actions to kill innocent civilians in an allied country."
Huh? Iraq, dude, Iraq..
W IS so whacked out that he'd hoodwink America into killing civilians in Iraq.
