Public figures don't stray so far from their public record....
1) I don't buy arguments where motives are given to people that are so far from the public record of motives that they describe for themselves. When you look at the horrible 'secret' crimes of Hitler and Stalin, it is not difficult to see their intentions from their public writings.

2) The US Federal Government is not competent enough to attack our own country without irrefutable evidince being pasted in national news headlines within 24 hours. Sorry. Somebody would talk.

3) Al Qaeda does claim credit for some terrorist attacks, though they are more coy about others. We don't need new attacks from Al Qaeda for motivation to destroy that network. Did they conduct the London operation? Don't know and don't care. However, I would like to see those responsible conducting that attack brought to justice.

4) Your wild speculation comes too close to sticking because what we have learned about Iraq doesn't go too well with what W told us about Iraq before we went in. That's W's own fault. I never voted for the man, I'd like to see him out of office as soon as possible, and I hope I live long enough to find out just exactly how he got us into this nation building exercise. With that said, there is no record of public statements to indicate that W is so wacked out that he would condone actions to kill innocent civilians in an allied country.
