Serving low density vs high density housing
How many houses can you serve in the last mile. Remember that your last point for them will all be at the last transformer. Or are you going to share the WiFi "LAN" accross all of the last mile clients.
In the latter case you may be able to get close to the same cost as that of BPL. But that will all depend on the layout and terrain. In a high density complex, with an average use of 3-4 wifi points per household (internet, SIP phones, Wifi MP3 Players and some IP TV, I was not able to go without the BPL, and to provide WiFi within the house environments. Having said that, my problem in delivery of WiFi last mile was not much of a problem in a "low" density housing complex.
