Rep. Peterson is telling us that the private
sector is failing to provide broadband so the government must do so. It seems to me that this is what municipalities have been saying only to have the fed government try to tell them they can't.

This is just more congressional double talk to raise taxes so as to increase government inefficiency more and more.

Big business has already trashed the Internet. And now the government is going to disgrace it even more by using it as an excuse to do everything from raise taxes to stealing away with what few individual rights we still have left.
