WiMax would have been a better option
Although WiMax (802.16e version) is still a couple of years out, it would have been a much better option to deplo wide area boradband.

For Philly to use WiMax in the unlicensed band of 5.1Ghz (instead of the more polluted band of 2.4Ghz), they would have enjoyed much better performance and much better spectrum efficiency. I can understand why they may want to deply quickly with proven technology, however.
