WiMax is NOT the basis of 4G, OFDM is the basis of 4G. WiMax is an implementation of OFDM and it's IP based from the ground up.

WiMax is disruptive technology. The carriers are terrified of it. Sprint wants it because it their CDMA technology EVDO is not good enough.

You have to read past the headlines to figure it out.
