- It's about time.....
- It's about time the phone companies stopped fighting and are willing to give us what we've been asking for. I think Sprint has made a wise business decision by adopting 802.16 WiMax. Many cities have already set up their own 802.11 WiFi networks because the local phone/cable ISP's wouldn't provide coverage. Maybe this will allow many people in rural areas the opportunity to finally have high speed access. I have a friend in MS who can't get high speed access just because the local cable company refuses to go an extra 100 feet down the road. That wouldn't be an issue with wireless access. Even in large cities this would allow competition with big cable/dsl companies, and force them to lower their overinflated prices. I for one am glad to see this technology arrive.
