In Illinois, there is a lot of information coded into your DL number
When I was in college, I had an assignment to write a program using regular expressions to parse user input. My program had the user enter their DL number, and it gave them the first letter of their last name, their date of birth, and their sex. They couldn't believe how much information was contained in what looks like an arbitrary number. This information is contained in six of twelve digits; I haven't figured the other six out yet. Imagine what could be coded into a 1k RFID chip.
