Did it... but we all have to get involved.
I agree with you. Complaining isn't a solution, thought it sure make me feel a bit better. I've been a bit lax until about 7 years ago. I hate politics, but it's time for people to start to wake up. Everyone is fine and dandy as long as they get their hamburgers and their TV shows; meanwhile the world around them changes.
And you're also right, it's not a republican or a democart problem (though I'm not really happy with the republicans these days).

I remember a short story I read when in high school. In a country people voted for various things by pushing a button on the TV set. Every time they hit the YES button the got a jolt of pleasure.
"Death penalty for manslaugter" Yes
"Death penalty for fighting" Yes
"Death penalty for fraud" Yes
"Death penalty for j-walking" Yes
"Death penalty for everyone" Yes

that's how it ended.

People feel great when politicians say "HEY, we're making the country safer." Meanwhile, it's not really that much safer (ie Ms. Rice hiding terror information) and I'm waiting in a 1 1/2 hour line to get on a damn plane.

I remember I went to get on a plane in Amsterdamn a few years ago. The guards had sniper rifles; I went through a metal detector, a pat down, opened my luggage, checked that gift I was bringing back, answered a few questions, and took a picture with a guard, and was on my way; all in about 4 minutes. No computers, no long line, no problems. Here I can walk through with my moms license and get on a plane.

Okay I'm rambling... but tracking chips do little for security except to make people FEEL safer; but soon I may have to have one to get on a train or walk into a building. No way.
