Of course it's done on purpose...
The system they have now for passports, visas, and airline security, will probably not improve with technology, but rather only by constant awareness by people. Any technology can be duplicated or tricked, and that leaves only the people sort out the good from the bad.
The main point is people FEEL safer. "Wow, look at all this technology" won't help you when a criminal or terrorist whose has never done anything before passes right through the system.
Meanwhile technology will trap more and more innocent people, and the only easy way out will to have money or influence. Look at Ted Kennedy and the No-Fly List. How his name got on it is beyond me, however he got it taken off pretty quickly; but how is a regular person to get their name off; And they want to put MORE roadblocks to freedom.
I'm at a loss, and thinking of moving to Canada.
