But I don't have much faith that this will sail very far.
" A Republican-backed federal measure that has passed a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives proposes implanting RFID chips in driver's licenses."
Yup. Gotta love today's Republicans. They want to make sure you know they're sh!tting on your head, and they'll do it with a nice big wide smile on their smug faces. This IS Big Brother my friends. For the feds to have the ability to remotely assess soo much personal information about you in an instant spells THE END of privacy everywhere FOREVER. This bill NEEDS to pass, and it needs to pass everywhere. The public must say NO RFID in any identifying documents. There is simply no need for anyone to carry around that much important personal information at all times. Surely we're not expected to carry around our social security cards everywhere we go. This would be infinitely more invasive, and just as unnecessary.
But I say we should pressure the Republicans to exercise the "nuclear option" and get rid of this silly filibustering. This way the Republicans who already own two branches of the federal government can ramrod through their ultra right wing judges, who would complete the chain and give the Republicans full control of the US government. The the Grand Old "right to life" party can get back to the business of making America safer, freer, and puritanically moral for all those creatures that go moo.. - Posted by: Jeff Spicoli Posted on: 04/29/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
