i think he was trying to say why not shut off the spyware type sites such as this on a dns level, you type googkle.com or whatever and dns wouldnt resolve for it.

whereas using dns poinoning could be slightly affective, not really probable. as you mentioned in your post, registrars dont care, and blocking a site based on this type of content would be a form of censorship, but i dont think a dns solution would be plausible.

now, a hosts (/etc/hosts on linux, %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on win) can block it at the computer level. but its a tweak and some people wouldnt understand how to implement it.

ive added googkle.com and the toolbar site it tries to load into mine and also the one on my site in the hosts.php page
