Russians?
You're suggesting we use profiling against groups. First, we need to stay away from those tactics. Never know, you too, could wind up being in a profiled group and persecutated.

People who do this type of activity either gain some type of reward or have an internal sadness (sickness) in which they reap some pleasure.

The common computer user(s) on this planet are not always the smartest cookies in the jar; and will blindly follow instruction on their computers, like sheep respond to a sheepdog. In most cases, they have to; all instructions on how to operate and navigate a computer is written instruction as well, and must be read, interpreted and followed. Hence, if one is bewildered, they follow the instructions on the screen. I come across this attitude several times a year while doing workshops at retirement centers. The retirees, who are even more babes in the woods, than our very own children in public schools are very trusting; but cannot see as they once did; or for that matter, type. They're the people who find these 'mis-directs' most often.

Personally, because these mis-directs can be considered an "attack" by the product of their mis-direct; ultimately cost time which is also money to many businesses and individuals. This should be mandered into a form of punishable crime. If one is caught creating either mis-directs, virii or trojans or other harmful misdeeds, a monetary fine, probation and mandatory public service should instituted. We don't need to jail anybody, as our systems are already overfull. -BUT- if you've created the crime in the first place, one should be the first to fix the menace and teach others' how to avoid other issues as well. A five year mandatory public service session can be long, involved and bound to remind one of their previous errors more than sitting a few months in a county/state jail.

Just as in the past, where solitations, door-to-door or by telephone has been mostly eradicated; it's time now to work on this newest vicious scheming before it becomes too costly to everyone.
