Highly Critical Flaws
Certain software systems - i5/OS, z/OS from IBM, for example - are highly resistant to intrusion and virtually unable to attacked with a virus. This is due to their object oriented nature.

There is always the comment that it is not a "computer" virus, it is a "Windows" virus. But, let's face it, if we all jumped over to Linux tomorrow, on Saturday someone would have found a hole, and they would be attacking the Penguin.

The problem is that people with great skills can't seem to find anything worthwhile to spend their time coding. I mean, come on, fellas - write a worm that clears out my dead registry threads, compacts my disk more logically, or increases my through-put, and then fixes the hole you found.

As long as you have a patch-work of purchased, shareware, freeware and anything like a connected system, you are and always will be vulnerable to the machinations of the malicious.
