The difference
The difference between all of your examples and the software industry is that no harm is done to the software user by the normal use of the software. Harm only occurs when a third party takes advantage of the flaws to inflict harm.

It may sound trite, but of there were no malware writers, flaws such as buffer overflows would not be a problem. In the case of auto manufacturers and drug manufacturers, the harm is caused by the normal use of the product, not by any third party.

It's a huge difference, especially where liability is concerned.
