One major difference with the security flaws in software is that they are a vulnerability that allows a 3rd party to cause damage or loss. For there to be a comparable legal onus on software developers to be responsible for these flaws then Goodyear would have to be responsible for any injury caused by an accident after someone shot the tyre and caused it to deflate rapidly.
When will tyre makers eliminate this worrying vulnerability of tyres to high-speed penetration??

There oughta be a law...
