Unfortunately NO I didn't!

Greetings MT,

No I didn't overlook it really, that falls under the topics of user friendly, inexperienced users, etc. etc. Microsoft does all of that for their users, is why it's attacked of course, it's what most Linux/Unix Microsoft bashers call fatal flaws. It's also why it's the number selling software in the world, because virtually anyone can sit down and use it without formal training and/or considerable study, and just can't honestly be said about Linux/Unix.

Please don't try and preach about how simple it is to use Linux/Unix either, I've used Red Hat, Solaris, and Knoppix, thus I know what all's involved in executiuon of numerous tasks that are by Microsoft terms common to most first and second graders.

Is Microsoft wrong for making a system that anyone can use? NO! And, it's not just about the money, it's about advancing society as whole. If the whole world had only Linux/Unix variants to deal with, in their current state of user friendly, there'd be a whole lot less problems with viruses in the world alright, because there wouldn't be nearly as many computers in the world!

Your link at Computer World defaulted to the homepage for some reason, and I couldn't find the article, but I would assume that incidence a major corporation, as I seem to recall the incidence. In that you imply obscurity is not a means of security, I must also assume that is 12,000 Linux machines??? And, again I seem to vaguely recall the story, and if my memory is correct, it was a unix system.

If they're so safe, if you have to go through so much to attack them, how did that happen MT?

Someone screwed up and left a door open! And, 12,000 machines in minutes it was a network administrator that screwed up and left the door open, because without admin privileges, that's not going to happen in Linux/Unix; is it?

Again, my point exactly... the bottom line is user error and a lack of common sense.

And, further if my computing life digresses to the point that I have to live with 1 mouse button, I'm going to give it up and go fishing!
