The basic home user
has no idea about setting up permissions, running in root, errr um admin or anything of the sort. They go to Wallace World buy their new peecee clear out a spot on the dining room table, set the thing up, turn it on, do what they are forced to do to get the thing operational and away they go. A phish/trojan/future zombie target is born.

How many home abusers actually sit down and read the manuals, watch the initial presentation or do the exploring windows presentation thing when the new peecee is turned on? Slim to none would be my guess.

Hip, I am assuming you have assisted your neighbors and friends in the their peecee woes. How may of those have one peecee serving four or more family members all working in admin? Even XP home offers separate user settings. My point is any OS can be rendered vulnerable if not used properly, example in point, setting the permissions to a level that precludes exploiting etc.

For most peecee abusers their best tool in the bag is guys like you and the 15 year old geek kid down the street. Folks like ya'll are the people that train these abusers to become aware of the pitfalls of peecee use.
