relax, I run Debian and I get updates fairly regularily

I'm running testing. Stable probably gets very few updates, but I
want more recent features.

apt-get update fetches bugfixes
apt-get dist-upgrade gets feature updates.

I get a fair few updates, as I've chosen to sail closer to the
unstable.

All software does have bugs, since it's written by humans in C or
C++. If they moved to GCJ = compiled java, they'd make fewer
bugs since buffer overflow would not be possible.

The design choices, particularly for Windows XP Home were bad
bad. For a secure windows system if I wanted one, I'd go for
Windows XP Pro with SP2, and I'd buy the CD with SP2 on it!

But this is expensive, and there is only a small proportion of
people running this system out of the millions on the internet
with a Win32 OS.
