- What JUNK!

Secret policing, "court orders", trials, and detentions ONLY belong to fascist dictatorships, and there is ZERO reason why going after terrorists should mean the end of so many fundamental constitutional rights, unless one is wise enough to realize that was the WHOLE intent in the first place. Once one finds out the truth about September 11th, then one quickly sees the whole point behind such legislation as the Patriot Act: that is, to underhandedly do and end run around the constitution all in the name of chasing after phoney boogeymen.
"Police invoked the Patriot Act when surreptitiously entering and searching a home or office without notifying the owner 108 times during a 22-month period.."
Wow, and Bush has the balls to claim he is championing democracy. So that's an average of FIVE ILLEGAL BREAK-INS A MONTH! And of course bin Laden is still well protected by American Nazi authorities, no terrorists were captured nor cells broken up, but many Americans got a nice 4th amendment trouncing shaft..and weren't even told about it. NO American would tolerate intelligence authrities ILLEGALLY breaking into their household with a proper warrant nor any kind of announcement. However, many pro-"war on terror" rejects support this criminal behavior only because it hasn't happened to them..yet.
"U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales told the Senate that police have employed secret court orders to obtain records 35 times so far."
Again it must be asked: why the SECRECY? People do things in secret when they know they are CRIMES! Surely if the evidence they have to get the "court order" is soooo damning, then there should be no problem obtaining the order publicly..no???
""We have heard over and over again that there have been no abuses as a result of the Patriot Act," Sen. Patrick Leahy, a Democrat from Vermont, said during a hearing Tuesday. "But it is difficult, if not impossible, to verify that claim when some of the most controversial surveillance powers in the Patriot Act operate under a cloak of secrecy."
Thank you! And there you have it all. There is no way to verify ANYTHING when it is done secretly! Precisely why it IS being done secretly!
Never heard of Patriot Act abuses?!?!? Bwahahahaha!!! What a lying TURD!
"The Patriot Act has been used to obtain search warrants against doctors and scientists who had been warning about the threat of bioterrorism in the U.S....
Yet it appears that Hatfill and Berry have become FBI targets primarily because they warned America about terrorism that the FBI and the CIA didn?t prevent."

"Where were you when, only six weeks after 9/11, the Congress made it legal to search your prescriptions, e-mails, bank and library records not because you are a suspicious person, but because someone who sent you an e-mail may be deemed a suspicious person?"

"While CNN and other media outlets are rejoicing because of the capture of Saddam Hussein, Bush again introduced new legislation last Saturday which increased the federal powers to investigate and reduces the privacy rights of American citizens :"

"? Sections 411 and 412, which allow the government to deport and detain, respectively, aliens for associating with terrorists, even unknowingly."

"Federal authorities on Tuesday used the Patriot Act to charge David Banach, 38, with interfering with the operator of a mass transportation vehicle and making false statements to the FBI."

"The government will revamp the wording of future federal contracts with the aim of countering U.S. powers, granted under anti-terrorism laws, to tap into personal information about Canadians."

"In particular, the Justice Department and former Attorney General John Ashcroft have circulated interoffice memos to various federal offices, instructing federal prosecutors and agents on how to stretch the Patriot Act to encompass surveillance for non-related terrorism investigations."

"FBI Director Robert Mueller on Tuesday asked lawmakers to expand the bureau?s ability to obtain records without first asking a judge,.."

Gee Mr. Politician. I found a nice amount not even trying to search hard at all!
"The number of classified documents has jumped since 2001, Freedom of Information Act disclosures have been curbed, and the wall of secrecy surrounding the Guantanamo Bay detention camp has drawn international condemnation."
But thankfully Bush is willing to murder sh!tloads of people to bring about democracy! Even if America must sink into a fascist dictatorship, the world will be "free" damnit! - Posted by: Jeff Spicoli Posted on: 04/06/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
