Dell hangs on boot
Johns, your comments are the first sensible fix for the boot hang problem I've read in all these many posts. If she can't boot it into safe mode, call Dell ( or her local PC shop)& get professional help. And Please, lets stop beating up on this poor person. I have worked in tech support for the last 15 years and she - or anyone else - should NOT have to be a tech head to use their computer for routine things.
