Norton/Symantec has worked for me
I have used Norton Corporate Anti-Virus and Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus since version 7.5. I heave had very few problems. The only problems I have had is with a few old Win98 computers who's users have not wanted to update to XP. I like being able to monitor the status of all computers on my network. With the latest version, you can set how much cpu time the software can use. So you can prevent it from hogging the cpu.
Only a few times have I experienced any performance problems. I those cases, a system reboot and restarting the scan fix the problem.
Those of you having problems may want to investigate your backup software. I used to use UltraBac. I then noticed that whenever a virus scan started, the backup software kernel started as well. It was was the backup kernel that was hogging the cpu. I was never able to get an explanation from the vendor.
I have been very satisfied with Symantec's anti-virus products. As for their other products, I have not been satisfied at all.
